Recommended Reading:
- Broadway: The American Musical, pages 426-429: Part of the section titled "'I Am Not Dead Yet'--The Resurrection of Musical Comedy" describes the development, outrageousness and success of The Book of Mormon.
- Playbill.com Article on The Scottsboro Boys In recognition of the tenth anniversary of The Scottsboro Boys, Playbill.com published an extensive article: "The Oral History of The Scottsboro Boys." This article has extensive interviews with composer John Kander, director Susan Stroman, book writer David Thompson, Scenic designer Beowulf Boritt, various producers, and many of the cast members. Near the end of the article, there are links to additional videos, including backstage footage from the final Broadway performance. (Unfortunately, as of 10/31/2025, the production photos seem to have been removed.)
